Know what happens when you book, request a callback or email.
Alternate Machines Ltd is responsible for personal information sent directly to us. This website uses Plausible for privacy-preserving, aggregate page-use measurement without advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. The interactive example stays in your browser. Booking opens on a separate page; callback requests are handled through Netlify Forms and email enquiries are received at hello@alternatemachines.co.uk.
One part of the business · your team approves important decisions · written instructions included
Plausible measures aggregate page use without setting analytics cookies or persistent identifiers.
No advertising pixel, retargeting tag or social-media tracker is loaded.
The guided example runs only in the current browser tab and does not send what you type to us.
The callback form asks only for a phone number, with a name and preferred time optional; it is not a marketing sign-up.
You can exclude this browser from Plausible below.
What this website does
Anonymous visit counting, not advertising tracking.
We use Plausible to understand whether people can find and use the site. We do not use this setup to identify people, build advertising profiles or follow anyone across websites.
What Plausible measures
Plausible records the page hostname and path, referring site, browser, operating system, device type, approximate country, region and city, and aggregate engagement such as time on page and scroll depth. Most query parameters are discarded; recognised campaign-attribution parameters may be retained if they are present. We have disabled Plausible's automatic form, file-download and outbound-link measurements on this site.
How anonymous counting works
A normal request reaches Plausible with an IP address and browser user-agent. Plausible says it uses those values with the website domain and a daily salt to count daily visitors, then discards the raw IP address and full user-agent. The salt is deleted every 24 hours, so the identifier cannot follow a visitor from one day to the next. Plausible does not set analytics cookies or persistent visitor identifiers.
Purpose and lawful basis
We use aggregate statistics to maintain the website, understand which public pages are useful and improve navigation and content. To the extent UK data-protection law applies to the transient processing involved, our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in proportionate, privacy-preserving website measurement. We do not use these statistics for automated decisions, individual profiling or retargeting.
Provider, location and retention
Plausible Insights OÜ, an Estonian company, processes the analytics on our behalf. Plausible says visitor data is processed and stored in the EU on European-owned infrastructure, including servers in Germany, and is not sold or used for advertising. Where UK international-transfer rules apply, transfers to the EEA are covered by UK adequacy regulations. Aggregate statistics remain in our Plausible property while it is active; we review the need for them at least annually and delete the site statistics when they are no longer needed. Plausible says deletion instructions are completed permanently without undue delay. Read Plausible's data policy and data-processing agreement.
Object or opt out
You can object to this use by excluding the browser you are using. The control stores only a plausible_ignore preference on this device for this website. It does not identify you or send the preference to us. Repeat the choice in each browser or device you want to exclude, or email us if you need help.
Choose whether this browser is included in anonymous page-use counting.
Cookies, similar technologies and paid advertising
We use the Plausible setup only to create aggregate statistics that help us improve this website. We rely on the statistical purposes exception in PECR and provide the simple, free browser opt-out above, so this limited use does not require a consent banner. Plausible does not set analytics cookies in this setup. No Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Conversions API, retargeting tag or other advertising tracker is active on this website. We will ask for consent before enabling any future non-exempt storage, access technology or advertising tracker.
Interactive workflow demo
Text entered into the guided example is handled only in your current browser tab. It disappears when you reset or reload the page. It is not sent to an AI model, analytics service, CRM or Alternate Machines. Use invented examples only.
Booking
“Book a free 15-minute call” opens our external Cal.com booking calendar in a new tab. The calendar is not embedded on this website. Cal.com collects the name, email address, selected time and any booking answers you choose to provide, then makes those details available to Alternate Machines. We use them to arrange the call, send confirmations or reminders, prepare for and respond to your enquiry, and keep a proportionate business record. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract and, where applicable, our legitimate interests in running and protecting the business. Authorised Alternate Machines personnel, Cal.com and the calendar or email providers needed to deliver the booking may receive the information. We normally retain the booking record for up to 24 months after the meeting or last substantive contact, unless an active contract, dispute or legal duty requires longer. Cal.com's own privacy notice explains its cookies, subprocessors and any international processing. Booking does not subscribe you to marketing.
Callback requests
If you ask us to call you, the form sends your phone number and, only if you choose to add them, your name and broad preferred working-hours window to Netlify Forms. The form has no free-text field and asks you not to provide sensitive information. A hidden anti-spam field and Netlify's spam filtering also process the submission. Spam filtering can place a genuine request in the Spam view, so an authorised person checks both the Verified and Spam views every UK working day while paid campaigns are running. A submission caught by the hidden honeypot is quietly discarded: it does not appear in either view or trigger an email. A person reviews each available request before any call is made; the form does not trigger an automated dialler or make an automated decision.
We use the details only to assess and return that enquiry. We do not add the number to a marketing list or advertising audience. Our lawful bases are taking steps at your request before a possible contract and our legitimate interests in receiving, managing and protecting genuine business enquiries. Authorised Alternate Machines personnel, Netlify as the website and form processor, and Microsoft 365, which receives the existing site-wide form-submission email notification, may receive the details. Netlify and its listed subprocessors may process information outside the UK under the safeguards in Netlify's data-processing agreement.
Raw submissions are scheduled for deletion once they are 45 days old and are deleted no later than 90 days after submission. If the request becomes a substantive business enquiry, we may keep the proportionate contact and enquiry record for up to 24 months after the last substantive contact, unless an active contract, dispute or legal duty requires longer. You can ask us to delete a pending callback request by emailing hello@alternatemachines.co.uk. Read Netlify's privacy information and data-protection information.
Email
If you email hello@alternatemachines.co.uk, we use the message and contact details to answer and manage your enquiry. We keep enquiry records for up to 24 months after the last substantive contact, unless an active contract, dispute or legal duty requires longer.
External social platforms
Links to our Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube and X pages open those providers' websites or apps. We do not embed their content or load their tracking technology on this website. After you choose to leave this site, the platform may use cookies or other storage and process your account or activity information under its own privacy notice and controls. Following, liking or messaging us on a platform does not subscribe you to marketing elsewhere.
Why we use enquiry information
We use ordinary business-enquiry information to respond to your request and decide whether we can provide a service. Where you ask us to take a step towards a contract, such as preparing a quote, we use the information for that requested step. We may also keep proportionate records for our legitimate interests in running and protecting the business.
Who receives it
Information is available only to authorised Alternate Machines personnel and the email, booking, callback-form, analytics or other service providers needed for the purposes described here. We do not sell enquiry information. A signed contract and project privacy information cover any later client work.
Right to object
You can object at any time to processing based on our legitimate interests by emailing hello@alternatemachines.co.uk. We will stop unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds or need the information for legal claims. If we ever use personal information for direct marketing, your right to object to that use is absolute.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your personal information, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict how it is used, receive portable information where that right applies, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Anonymous Plausible statistics normally cannot be linked back to an identifiable person. Email hello@alternatemachines.co.uk.
